Cookies and security
What this site stores on your device, and how we treat your data.
The short version
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used. Neither one loads until you accept the notice below — decline, and no analytics script is ever fetched. We set no advertising cookies and run no cross-site advertising trackers. Our client portal also offers a language picker powered by Google Translate; it loads only if a signed-in client chooses a language other than English.
What is stored
Before you accept: a single local entry recording that you have seen the notice, so it does not reappear on every page. Nothing in it identifies you. After you accept: Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga and similar) to tell repeat visits apart, and Microsoft Clarity sets its own to stitch a session together. Clarity also records how you moved and clicked through the page. Both expire on their own; clearing your browser data removes them.
Forms
The contact and careers forms send what you type into them to our own ticketing system so a person receives it. That data is not passed to any third party, and there is no tracking pixel on submission.
Security
The site is served over TLS only, with a content security policy that names the only outside origins allowed to run anything — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity — and blocks every other. Data you send us through a form is stored on infrastructure we operate ourselves in the United States, encrypted at rest.
Translation
The client portal has a language picker offering the same five languages as this website. Choosing anything other than English translates the page using Google Translate, which means the text you are reading — including your own support tickets — is sent to Google. It stays on English unless you choose otherwise, nothing is sent to Google while it is on English, and switching back to English stops it immediately. If a ticket contains anything you would rather not send to a third party, leave it off and ask us for a translation instead: we will do it by hand.
Asking us about your data
Email team@alcousa.org and a person will answer. You can ask what we hold and ask us to delete it.
